TEXTerns

The TRAPS TEX-ternship Program enables outstanding young professionals 30 years of age and younger in the parks and recreation field to interact with and learn from members of the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS), and other individuals who attend the TRAPS Institute and its associated meetings.

TEX-terns are paired with TRAPS members who serve as mentors during the Institute, and may attend selected meetings, socials, and educational sessions with their mentors or on their own. Mentors introduce TEX-terns to their contacts and expand the young professionals’ networks. 

What's Included?

Each scholarship recipient will be paired with a mentor during Institute from the field of Parks and Recreation and will receive an invitation to a TRAPS leadership event. Additionally, each scholarship provides up to a total of $1,000 to help with the following:

• Full Package Institute Registration
• Reimbursement for hotel lodging (up to a specified amount)
• Reimbursement of mileage or airfare (up to a specified amount)
• Reimbursement of meals (up to a specified amount)

Cannot be combined with another scholarship.
